I don't think you need any streaming, since DLNA only support basic http and rtsp. And most render like WMP only support http transfer.
I only support http right now. The DLNA server (WMP) resides in another network. I already wrote the UPnP functionality (I can browse the remote content). My media player (or renderer) requests the content trough my proxy. Now I download the file entirely before I can send it to the client (which can take long if the file is large). I don't know how to pass smaller chunks of data to the client connection.
