Folks, I have the following proposal to make based on the results of the user poll on the minimal JRE requirements for HttpClient 4.0. Unfortunately only 19 persons took part, but since they all unanimously voted in favor of 1.5, I believe the results are representative of the general trend towards a wider acceptance of Java 1.5 as the preferred JRE.
Based on this results I would like to put on vote the following proposal: * HttpCore base remains Java 1.3 compatible * HttpCore NIO is to be upgraded to Java 1.5 * HttpCore NIOSSL is to be merged into HttpCore NIO * HttpClient is to be upgraded to Java 1.5 ------------------------------------------------------------------- [ ] +1 I am in favor of this proposal [ ] -1 I am NOT in favor of this proposal (a reason must be stated) ------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone is encouraged to cast his/her vote.
