Is there a supported method to synchronize settings between

Firefox Sync:

Firefox Sync doesn't even synchronize the extension's installation since
it's not carried on the standard extension site, although there's an
about:config flag for this.
I'm particularly interested in custom rules, but other settings would be
useful as well.
These all live in the Firefox profile directory for your OS. On Linux,
HTTPS Everywhere custom rules are usually in
~/.mozilla/firefox/PROFILE_NAME/HTTPSEverywhereUserRules/.
I was hoping to avoid doing it manually at the filesystem level
(although that is what I'm currently doing), hence my request for a
supported way to sync.
More importantly, this only synchronizes custom rules, but not settings,
so when I find a site that's broken (Microsoft's Technet articles and
discussion forums, for example), I have to remember to reconfigure it
multiple times on different machines.
