Actually, #2 is a new and different problem. We do want to support in-place builds, but make(1) is just overzealous and [ab]uses "GNUmakefile" in "share/enfuse", which is to be shipped for the convenience of our users, not for building any part of the Enblend/Enfuse project. The attached patch "rename-share-gnumakefile.diff" should fix that. Please try!
As for the original problem, `dist' not working unless preceded by `all'. I don't know the exact intended semantics of the `dist'-target. It surely is debatable whether `all' is necessary before `dist' or the `dist'-target takes care of everything even if we start from `clean'. What do the Automake gurus say? A fix is trivial, see "override-dist-target-dependence.diff". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Hugin Bug Hunters, which is subscribed to Enblend. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1468520 Title: make dist fails Status in Enblend: Confirmed Bug description: I'm trying to make a tarball from the default branch so I can update the fedora package but `make dist` fails: $ make dist make dist-gzip am__post_remove_distdir='@:' make[1]: Entering directory '/home/bruno/src/enblend' if test -d "enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5"; then find "enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5" -type d ! -perm -200 -exec chmod u+w {} ';' && rm -rf "enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5" || { sleep 5 && rm -rf "enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5"; }; else :; fi test -d "enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5" || mkdir "enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5" (cd share && make top_distdir=../enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5 distdir=../enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5/share \ am__remove_distdir=: am__skip_length_check=: am__skip_mode_fix=: distdir) make[2]: Entering directory '/home/bruno/src/enblend/share' (cd enfuse && make top_distdir=../../enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5 distdir=../../enblend-enfuse-4.2-add32106f8f5/share/enfuse \ am__remove_distdir=: am__skip_length_check=: am__skip_mode_fix=: distdir) make[3]: Entering directory '/home/bruno/src/enblend/share/enfuse' make[3]: *** No rule to make target 'distdir'.
