The only advantage of installing to /usr/local is that you can delete this folder and get back to a clean system. If we are installing some stuff to /usr and other stuff to /usr/local then we are just making a mess - on a Linux distribution all files in /usr are typically controlled by the package manager. Also it should be possible to do an install as a normal user to a private folder (e.g. when building rpm packages), this will fail if we try to create files in /usr/share. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFS6tXJFqOhwCjyCLoRAgHqAJ9iktrf7Y26vHzpi73TSk0MdwQ5/QCdGPiE ecMr+56UuDZiXeEOd09hbng= =GwZQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Hugin Developers, which is subscribed to Hugin. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1271563 Title: Please provide an AppData file Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI: Confirmed Bug description: Please add a AppData file for Hugin, else it looks really bad in the GNOME Software Center.
