You did not mentioned which operating system and which Hugin version. Also it is not reproducible on Windows and LUbuntu. On both systems it works perfectly.

Clicking a button to toggle an image should update that button immediately, but the button colors are apparently redrawn using an outdated state. The problem is immediately apparent if an image is clicked off, but the button remains blue, until another image is toggled, then the first image's button turns white.
