hey all. just a bit off-topic, since it might only be interesting for a small part of the group.
today i've stumbled [1] over panoramio [2], an application to "assemble multi-frame panoramas and collages directly on the iPhone". the software uses the multitouch screen and the OpenGL-capabilitiey of the phone to compose panoramas, up to 180° vertical and horizontal field of view. the results are far from perfect, since no control points are used, the matching is simply made with rotation. there is also no blending inbetween the images, but for a software running on my telephone the results are still impressive [3]. wish you all a happy evening! david/habi [1]: http://www.fscklog.com/2008/09/panolab-panoram.html [2]: http://tinyurl.com/panoramio - link opens in iTunes!
