I have now built svn 3972 on the notebook it is to run on. The app has the same behavior as the others: It closes unexpectedly on 'image load'.
There were two issues with the build: 1) cmake could not find the wxrc executable. 2) on building wxrc, include file wx/setup.h was missing. I am not sure what the issue is here. I found a copy header file in \lib\vc_lib\mswu\wx\ and used it instead.
