Firstly I would suggest to use something like dfov, diagonal fov which
would be independent of portrait or landscape photo orientation. But
of course other ways work as well. In any case portrait-landscape-
independent.

Secondly, if one were to touch this part of the remapping maths, I
would suggest to incorporate the missing quintic barrel distortion
parameter at that time as well, see separate thread. So one would only
have to touch these routines once.
