That's how I found out :-)
I used my "guaranteed to crash" project (w.r.t. celeste) and 2 others which were known to crash occasionally. However, both with the "standard" 0.8.0 as well as the new 2009.2 build, they do work fine and don't crash. Tried a couple of more projects and they funtion fine too. Maybe it was "something" on my old macbook that's no longer there on my new macbook pro, or it has been solved going from RC5 to 0.8.0 as Ippei made some final changes before final 0.8.0 release. The final 0.8.0 was built after my previous macbook crash. Note: As the "guaranteed to crash" project is one of my standard testing projects, I also used it on my Linux laptop when building 0.8.0 and a couple of svn builds later. I realize now that it didn't crash on Linux (Ubuntu 9.04) on any build. I'll try to do some more testing this weekend. If it keeps working I'll close the bug ticket. I didn't hear any other OSXer about it.
