Some projections have limits on field of view, switching from a 360deg
equirectangular to rectilinear has to reduce the field of view to less
than 180deg, if you then immediately switch back then you end up with
a 179deg equirectangular.

The General Pannini projection has a variable maximum angle of view,
so playing with pannini settings can (sometimes) result in the angle
of view reducing.
