In your case, ie you're not creating a panorama but basically taking several times the same picture, it might be easier/faster to just use gimp...Just be sure to use a tripod or to not move your camera between each shot. As long as there's no overlap of yourselves on the different pictures, it'll be really easy.
I tried to use the pictures you provided but there was no enblend error...
