Yes I see this too. We could do with a list of things that don't work with mosaic mode:

The photometric optimiser claims there are no overlapping points.

The Fit, Centre and Straighten buttons always set the field of view to 179°. Thomas added a fix for the Centre button, but I still see this 179° thing.

The Calculate Optimal Size button gives huge pixel dimensions.

Furthermore, the final output is kind of broken as soon as the
translation parameters are nonzero:

Thomas has since committed a workaround that now disables GPU stitching if XYZ translation parameters are present, which solves your main problem.

Basically: there is now a 'mosaic' drag mode in the preview so you can put the photos in the middle of the canvas; the photometric parameters were messed-up, so I clicked Reset... in the Camera and Lens tab and used the exposure from the camera EXIF instead.

For some reason the project was set to 'exposure fusion' instead of 'Normal', this will be unnecessarily slow as you don't have any stacks, it also won't do any exposure adjustment - Which was probably a good thing in this case as the photometric parameters were all messed-up anyway.
