I hacked a wrapper for ASIFT (linux, bash) for your curiosity.
http://201.ag/hugin/asiftw
MD5: b17034fc1801f125ad740674e60439f3
Installation instructions are on top of the file.
A precompiled binary (under Ubuntu 10.04, but should work on every
Debian installation) can be found here:
http://201.ag/hugin/demo_ASIFT (use at your own risk!).
MD5: 631ff9d3c6355abfffe5fc8510c34b5c
At a first glance, ASIFT works fine and the control points are sprayed
over the images.
The topmost problem is that ASIFT produces too much control points, but
I have an idea to reduce them by sorting and keeping only lines with a
certain delta.
Feedback is welcome.
