But having followed the procedure you proposed, I seem not to have a SF Username. All I have is the openID and, also, a launchpad ID (at least I suppose I do). When I log into SF with openID, I'm there with a user ID all right, but it tells me that Login Name (User Name): Get one by creating a SourceForge account So I wasn't not quite sure what my SF status was. Supposed I'd have to create a SF account after all. So the next step I took was entering the create-a-SF-account dialog. I had already filled in everything when I noticed I had to accept the terms and conditions. Fair enough. So I wanted to see them (I'm peculiar about stuff like that) but however hard I tried, it forever just sent me back to the login mask, where it told me I had already logged into a SF account. Then I had the clever idea to log out again and start as if I hadn't logged in first with openID. Now the link to show me the terms and conditions actually displayed them (by then all the data I'd entered had disappeared ...) Whoa. The t&cs are heavy stuff. I'm not sure I can agree. I'll take some more time to consider. If I look at launchpad's terms and conditions, they seem quite simple and reasonable. I'm not sure if the same can be said about SF. They sound very american to me. It's not that I intend to do anything they want me to assure I won't do, but I'm not certain what a clever US lawyer might construct from something I find perfectly harmless. It certainly made me afraid to agree to them and post my harmless bit of code. So I'm currently stalled. I can't think anymore, I've spent the day on other legal stuff and I'll call it a day now and switch off. I'll look at SFs t&cs again tomorrow - but maybe there's another way as well? I suppose I could after all just upload to PyPI (I'll have to have a look at their legalese as well...). So, in a nutshell, it seems that the openID procedure was a pointless detour on my way to a sourceforge account. Seems at least I gained a launchpad ID on the way... with regads Kay -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Hugin and other free panoramic software" group.
