Hi everybody, I just committed a change that will enable PToptimizer to handle the Thoby projection.
I undusted a spherical 360/180 project I had lying around. Unfortunately it was shot with a 20d, but i took good care of setting control points. This was my "calibration" shot for the Nikkor on my 20d. The Thoby is not perfect, but it very close. I needed to compute the b parameter to get almost perfect alignment (b0.020879). The first is the result of running PTroller on the remapped images. As you can see, the seams are visible (8 horizontal photos, + 1 nadir and 1 zenith). http://turingmachine.org/~dmg/temp/thoby-APSC-noMask.jpg To highlight the seams, I only show half of the images here: http://turingmachine.org/~dmg/temp/thoby-APSC-partial.jpg The vignetting of the lens gives the seams away. Be careful not to confuse a shadow with a lack of alignment. As you can see, the results are spectacular. Now I need to test it with a fullframe photo. Any of you who want to try it, install the library, and edit the optimization script. Any chance hugin could implement a filter to pass the script through rather than having to do manual edits?
