Thanks, I checked and the pano looks the same in Fast Preview Window. With 
Photometrics activated the pano looks slightly darker but the steps remain 
in the corners of the images.
I compared all my settings for Exposure Correction and cannot find a 
difference but for some reason 2009.4.0 managed to get better transitions in 
the corners of images.

I admit that I use the old Preview Window a lot more than the Fast Preview 
Window although the latter has more functionality.

Anyway, the final output is not affected, so it is not a serious problem. I 
just noticed a qualitative difference in the Preview Window.
