As far as I can see, Hugin writes a makefile that more or less
guarantees that all steps will be performed.

I think it is not too difficult to do the following:

- Extract the parameters that nona will need for image1 from the PTO
file and put them in image1_params.pto.tmp
- compare image1_params.pto.tmp and image1_params.pto and if they are the
same delete image1_params.pto.tmp. If they differ, move
image1_params.pto.tmp to image1_params.pto .

Now, when you tell make that the remapped image of image1 depends on
image1_params.pto, make will be able to do what it's good at and
rebuild only what is necessary.

Yesterday I adjusted ONLY the exposure of two images out of ten, and
the "stitch again" resulted in all images being remapped. Not
necessary!

The plan was simple, like my brother-in-law Phil. But unlike
Phil, this plan just might work.
