We need volunteers to do some of the tasks required to get the
2012.0.0 release done.
Hopefully we will have a release manager, but there are quite a few
steps that anyone can do to make all this go faster:

I'm thinking of stuff like writing release notes and updating the
launchpad timeline.
Writing release notes involves reading the commit log for the
default branch and picking out new features that would interest
users. i.e. get a full changelog for the default branch:
hg up default
hg log --follow > changelog.txt
..and read everything that has happened since 2011.4 was branched on
Nov 5th.
