Thomas,
I resolved the issue with this patch
http://panotools.hg.sourceforge.net/hgweb/panotools/libpano/rev/e63acb0227b7
There was some switches between int and uint when the variables got updated.
Because of the need of signed int the image dimensions are limited to max int32
and not max uint32. But I don't foresee that being an issue in the near future.

Hi Jim,
After merging the PSD branch the default branch did not compile on
Windows.
After fixing the issues the tests in the test folder failed. I tracked
it down to changeset 0a526edf75cc (http://panotools.hg.sourceforge.net/
hgweb/panotools/libpano/rev/0a526edf75cc). I tried to fix it. After
the mentioned changeset c9f63bc558e9 the tests were all successful
again. Maybe there is a further issue with signed/unsigned numbers
introduced in changeset 0a526edf75cc, which is not covered by the
tests, but appears in your example.
