Hello again!
We have mixed feelings with the second release candidate for
Enblend/Enfuse version 4.1: One serious bug was identified and
promptly squashed (+), but another could not be eradicated in time
only circumnavigated (#).
We have put tar-balls of RC2 at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/enblend/files/enblend-enfuse/enblend-enfuse-4.1/
The archive files there are derived from revision 17a9b2f63d9a
in the Mercurial repository
http://enblend.hg.sourceforge.net/hgweb/enblend/enblend/
The following problems have been fixed since RC1:
* Always link against the Boost "system" library. This fixes
compilation problems with newer versions of Boost.
* Adapt the detection of newer Boost "filesystem" libraries.
Now old (~1.44) as well as new (1.53) Boost versions are
auto-detected.
* Include all files in the (Automake generated) tarball
("enblend-enfuse-4.1rc2.tar.gz") that are necessary to
configure with the CMake system.
* Improve on the graphical debugging output of the seam-line
generator.
* Fix a bug in the polygon closer function, which caused
problems with certain multi-segment contours, i.e. multiple
seam lines in a single pair of overlapping images. (+)
* Stick with Nearest-Feature Transform as default primary seam
generator. This has been the default for 4.0, too.
Despite its overall superiority, the Graph-Cut algorithm
does not play well enough with the latest versions of the
Vigra library to allow for electing it the new default in
Enblend-4.1. It is available on demand though with option
"--primary-seam-generator=graph-cut". (#)
For those interested, the Vigra/GraphCut bug bites like
this:
enblend: an exception occured
enblend: Invariant violation!
connected components: Need more labels than can
be represented in the destination type.
We are working on the problem. It will be fixed in 4.2!
For an overview of the changes consult the "NEWS" file living in the
root directory of the distribution source tarball or online at
