I'm using a somewhat older Hugin release ( 2012.0.0.a94faa15c927 on openSUSE 12.1 ) and will try to see if a current version resolves this issue.
But I am shooting stained glass in a church. Because of some huge light fixtures, I am having to shoot from off center, so you have perspective in both axes. There are 14 sets of these panels, about 1 x 8 meters, each about 3 meters up. And I am in the same relative position when I'm shooting, about 10 degrees to the left or right to avoid the light fixtures.. The first couple batches came out great, hugin detects the PoV, this shows up properly in the preview applet, and applies perspective correction - fantastic! Auto-magical! The last couple ( identical setup photographically ) it seems to shear the image making horizontal -OR- vertical lines plumb, but not correcting both simultaneously. I have gone into all of the 26 images and made sure there are vertical / horizontal contol lines that make sense. I do note that many of them show HUGE discrepancies ( hundreds of pixels ) - I'm not sure if that is normal, or a symptom. I understand the requirements in terms of the input images, and use Hugin a lot, so while not an expert, I've used it enough to know something odd is happening. I'm at a loss. Here is the rest of the project: http://maps.muhlenberg.edu/gallery/ The panels I'm struggling with are similar to the last one in the series ( scroll the thumbnails all the way over, the final tall panel ) This was shot in the same manner, and came out perfectly, pretty much as seen. about 10 degrees to the left or right. The current batch have horizontal line plumbed to the horizon, and vertical lines are sheared or rotated so the image is on a 20 degree angle. I guess my ultimate question: how do I troubleshoot this? Where do I look for problems.
