Hugin assigns the lens automatically when adding images. When you get different lenses there are 2 reasons: a) the images have different dimensions b) or the Exif data indicates different focal lengths. In case a) assigning the same lens not help. Hugin expects that all images of the same lens have the same dimension. Forcing something other can have unwanted and unknown side effects.
