I want to make an accurate photo mosaic map of a large club size indoor model railroad layout and I am wondering if the Hugin stitching application can be put to good use here.
I plan to mount a camera on a long pole with a remote shutter release and take many overhead photos of the layout, with the camera as high up as possible (4-5 feet above the track - limited by the ceiling height) and pointed directly down at the the track. Each photo will have a different x-y location and the z location and the angular position may be varying a bit as some places maybe be harder to reach than others, There will be a lot of miniature buildings, track structure, telephone poles, cars, etc. so I think finding control points between neighboring photos wont be too much of a problem. Has anyone done this using Hugin or similar apps. Any tips I should be aware of? Cheers. -- A list of frequently asked questions is available at: http://wiki.panotools.org/Hugin_FAQ --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "hugin and other free panoramic software" group.
