That's a good question. Discourse has mailing list tools and although I don't know if you can perform direct interactions to a thread from your email client, I will look into it when my internet connection comes back to a full bandwidth (next month). I also believe Discourse allows for anonymous and account-less posting, but I'll confirm or deny that then (unless someone else does before me) But your question raises another one for me : don't you need a Google account to interact with this group?
