Do yourself a favour and use clang++. The resulting binary is much
faster. I've also made efforts to make compiling easier, it should not
be hard at all. I'll help if you run into problems.
I put an 'event' in my calendar and will try to compile pv in a
month or even sooner, and I will report back.
