Guys, Thanks for working on this. I too find the missing previews on retina screens very hard to work around.
Based on the comments on the release-notes page, (namely "Fixes fast preview on HiDPI screens under GTK+3 and MacOS"), it seems like was able to compile it on a Mac, no?
