Can I assure you that this is neither the intent nor the
implementation of the hugs-bugs list. Anyone can mail to it.
We have had some intermittent problems about a month ago when
we moved our list server to haskell.org, perhaps you hit this,
or perhaps the machine was down. Things in this regard are
now much more stable. However, I'll check into this today
just in case there still in a lingering bug in hugs-bugs.

I'll look into it. However, there is a total rewrite of the
module chasing mechanism in the works anyway, for the
combined Hugs/GHC system. Julian Seward used up many braincells
this summer addressing these sort of issues.
