Definitely not. The sticky bit is an artefact from the PDP11
time. It tells the kernel to leave the image of a program
on swap space even if it is no longer executing so it can be
reused. AFAIK, it is no longer used. Nowadays you can set the
sticky bit on directories so that files in these directories
can only be removed by the owner of the file.
