Yes, I meant turn off optimisation in Visual C++ when compiling Hugs.

Hugs doesn't really do any optimisation so it's either really easy or
really hard to turn it off - depending on your point of view :-)

ps Assuming that this avoids the problem, I'd really like to solve
 the real problem (ie rewrite the code that's causing the problem).
 If you can send me some code that causes the problem, I'd be most
 grateful.
