keyboard interrupts not properly reset

Under Linux:
After employing the keyboard interrupt once (after foolishly trying to
examine the contents of an infinite list), I noticed that the interrupt
is not reset, i.e. if I foolishly try to examine the structure again,
the keyboard interrupt is ignored.  This is not the case under SunOS.
