MAXPATHLEN is still in the same place /usr/include/sys/param.h
I tried this on solaris 7 w/solaris compilers installed and it worked.
I noticed a make failed identically after running "configure"
for a lisp distribution I tried. I asked around and found that
a few other folks have similar behaviour w/configure from fsf.
Are you using gcc or solaris compilers ?
