Hi,

I've put together a MSI (Microsoft Installer) for Hugs98 Feb'00, which might
be of help to some - a test version is available from

        http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/~sof/HugsInstaller.msi (950k)

It includes documentation (PDF, html) as well as libs & demos. In the
unlikelihood that NT and 9x users haven't already got the MSI runtime
component installed on their boxes, they'll need to first install the
MSI redistributable from:

   http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/instmsi.htm

(MSI comes with Win2k.) Let me know of any problems etc. you run into
using it, and I'll try to fix them.

Hugs98 people - building installers using MSI technology is really
preferable
to using InstallShield / Wise etc. (both of these products will switch over
to
MSI backends for their next version.) And, luckily, putting together an
installer
for Hugs98 is a simple enough task that it fits within the scope of the
MSI-friendly Visual Studio Installer, which is available for download from

   http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/downloads/vsi11/default.asp

(provided you've already got a copy of VS6)

If anyone wants the VSI project files, let me know. Once you've got those,
building
new Hugs distributions is close to being trivial.

Hmm..this message has the flavour of an infomercial from the company whose
address I'm posting this from. Sorry 'bout that :)
