We aim to share God�s love with everyone, through word and deed. OUR MISSION 1. To WORSHIP. To worship God in personal prayer and every communal opportunity. 2. To GATHER. To gather together for our Men�s and Women�s groups, our Arise and Shine Groups and Community gatherings. 3. To PROCLAIM AND EVANGELISE To demonstrate and proclaim the Gospel so that others may come to a conversion in Christ. 4. To BUILD To live fully our call to Christian community by caring for one another and bringing others that the Lord would call into this way of life. 5. To BRIDGE To build a bridge between denominations and between the charismatic power of the Holy Spirit and the traditional church ethos. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- 3. THREE DAY PRAYER & FAST -------------------------------------------------- As mentioned in the editorial, the prayer and fast will be happening on 23rd, 24th & 25th October. The calendar has listed three prayer intentions, this has now been updated. The following are the intentions for the fast: - That which has been stolen to be returned. - That we will love one another. - Conversion of our youth. - Protection for community. - Personal intentions. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- 4. PRINCE AND SON -------------------------------------------------- The following article was handed in: �In early England, there was a little girl crying on the side of the road. Two men stopped and asked her what was wrong. The little girl told them of the terrible trouble and sickness her family were in. One of the men answered joking; �Why don�t you go and tell the Queen?� � she was Queen Victoria. The castle was not far from where she was, so she went off to see the Queen. She never got past the guards at the Palace gate, so she just sat down and cried. A little while later a young man was walking by and saw the upset little girl, went over to her and asked if he could help. She told him about her family, and how she wanted to see the Queen, but the guard would not let her in. The young man took her by the hand, and took her past the guard into the palace to the Queen. The young man was the Prince. We today can go to our King with our pain and troubles. His Son Jesus would only he too happy to take us to see the King. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- 5. FORMATION 2002 -------------------------------------------------- One of our challenges is to look to expand the vision and to do this we need to have more people helping us with the �harvest� ie. more people doing Formation. With the changes to Arise and Shine groups, people are now free to be more part of whatever outreach they would like to, and one of these is the Formation Program. If you would like to consider becoming a part of the Formation Team or you know someone who is interested in learning more about the Servants, please contact the Office. SINGLES LUNCH AT GATHERING -------------------------------------------------- Just in case you didn�t see this notice in the last newsletter, we are reprinting it, because we want to make sure all you older, yet still young at heart, singles of the Community, have received this invitation for a shared lunch before the General Gatherings at the center. This will be held at 12 noon � 2.15pm, under the Canteen shelter if it not so sunny. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- 7. CALLING FOR HELP -------------------------------------------------- As some of you may be aware Aruana has after 6 years decided to take a well earned break from running the children�s conference. Willis is going to co-ordinate the conference but she needs all the help she can get. In order for the conference to run smoothly we need as many people as we can to volunteer to help, in any capacity at all, even for only an hour! We especially need someone to oversee, people to supervise each of the days, (you don�t have to be there all day), helpers on each of the days. If there are talented people out there who are interested in running or just helping in the workshops, artistic, crafty, (or if you have an idea for a workshop). -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- 8. PRAYER WATCH INTENTIONS FOR OCTOBER 2002 -------------------------------------------------- CHRIST THE SAVIOUR 1. Prayer for Unity, Love, Protection, and breaking of Strongholds with Community and Associated Fellowships and Churches 2. Prayer for Children�s Ministry at Southside and within Community. In regards to Vision, Protection and Building of Ministry 3. Prayer that all members have a Passion for Jesus and a Vision to Win Souls for the Lord 4. Prayer that the Community learn, grow and move in the Spiritual Gifts 5. Pray for a move of God GOOD SHEPHERD FELLOWSHIP 1 Prayer for unity and protection from forces of division. 2 Direction and vision in leadership. 3 Prayer that the Holy Spirit will bring revelation and joy in repentance. 4 Freedom and release in worship. 5 Blessings and encouragement for the youth. LIVING WATERS 1 Pray for leaders and their families: protection and strong leadership and as led by the Spirit. 2 Protection for all members. 3 Music ministry: move in anointing � worship, praise exaltation and warfare. 4 Prayer watch: coverage, led by the Holy Spirit 5 Finances: Community (thanksgiving). 6 Those called: to community � the lost, broken. 7 God�s direction: for community.
