Tom Moir did NOT make a recording of the Hum. He has been unable to do
that, and is unable to hear the Hum himself. What he did is to
generate a noise that people say sounds like the Hum that they hear.
I have made a genuine recording of the Hum that I hear, and here it
is, complete with occasional bird noises:

It's just a large diesel engine about 2 kilometres away from my house.
A similar engine would probably be the cause of the majority of Hums
around the world. A hint - every ship has one. Large industrial areas
also.
