If I look out of my window now......................I can see a large
substation just over the road. In fact it was the prime candidate for
when I first heard the Hum all those years back. It wasn't the culprit
of course, and there's no way the diesel generators are creating any
hum harmonics that I can hear. They're going now, generating power to
weld up train bogies, and there's absolutely no Hum whatsoever. When
the Hum is 'on'  and set to Turbo, it can be heard anytime during the
day or night.
