Excellent news to read.- that you have effective back up!
Your site is a very old established Hum site and if you have got
measurements and independent witnesses- that is remarkable.
12.5 Hz is in the Earths' Schumann resonance band and would not be
hearable.
What you did hear , however, would it have been continuous?
If not steady tone , any ON/Off activity showing on the equipment
should tally with your hearing to show a common source. Something that
is a must in this search for Hum cause.
There is often a 'beat'  or throb of a few cycles too, so even if you
get it all the time at present, that beat could show up as a lower
sideband- if the measuring gear is senstive enough.
Recording the hum is extremely tricky and hasn't been done properly
yet.
Many have tried and some have published -but the jury is still out, to
my best knowledge.
