.........didn't listen to it on my iPod, but on my CD clock radio
instead last night. The first time for years that I've listened to a
radio play. A bizarre experience to say the least because during the
quite parts, the real Hum was heard coming in loud and clear at about
4/5 on the intensity scale. It was clever that the writer weaved a
story involving The Hum using characters involved in noise pollution.
The lady Hum sufferer hiding out in Wookie Hole to escape it seemed
somewhat strange, cos as we know it can be *heard* underground, inside
Faraday cages etc. Also she said the the internet message boards only
had old posts on them, and as we know that's not the case for here or
elsewhere. The rubbishing of the tinnitus theory was well aired from
the outset so that was welcomed. Some more research was needed, but
all in all an excellent 73 minutes as it got The Hum out into the
mainstream, well slightly as Radio 3 doesn't have a massive audience
as it's listened to by vicars and members of the Women's Institute. I
wonder what they made of the F word being used several times?
