I never have gotten rid of the hum over the years. I was one of the ones who lost the hum when stepping out the threshold. and can hear it with earplugs, sadly this is no longer the case as of Sep 29th 2010. (To be honest I don't take very good journals or notes, but the one thing which has changed is the loudness, enough to make me post.)
Location South Sacramento. Before 11:05PM Wed 29th Sept the hum was very low for me. At least I was getting 2 hours sleep at a time. But 11:05PM Wed 29th Sept the friggin thing kicked in, like never before. I now hear it outside the house, in cars, across town, and in other buildings. Even with a tv, stereo, radio on I can hear the Low Frequency Hum right through it. This is new, it's the same loudness/ amplitude(if only a visualization--if this is gravity waves) day or night 24/7 and loud. It causes confusion, and blurred vision now. History Update: I also all my life hear an astral bell.. e.g. High Frequency bell noise, but it doesn't wreck my day like the low frequency hum does. The Low Frequency hum only started in my 40's. Again, I hear both, high freq bell and Low Freq Diesel Engine/ Train Engine sound. I am also near a small airport IN the flight path. I didn't pay close attention to the DTV conversion in conjunction with the Hum. But to the best of my opinion it didn't seem to do anything different hum wise. The Hum's been completely miserable me except for the few silence breaks, and lower amplitude times over the years. it's 24/7 now.
