It would be helpful to see some of your research, Vic.
Hopefully , it will show low frequency sinusoidal 30 to 50 Hz
components -rather than sporadic cross modulated breakthrough on the
Short Wave band.
That is what seems to be the main complaints against BPL
implementation.
Given that BPL  EM pollution has been reported to travel up to 2000 Km
[presumably via cable propagations] it's obviously 'everywhere'- but
that doesn't make it Humzzzz.
Will is right, correlation doesn't equal causation.
