My wife and I have been plagued by the hum for about 4 years now. We've tried about everything to find out the cause and block the hum, and the only thing that masks it somewhat is the ceiling fan on high. We hear the same hum in every room of our house, and even in other homes, hotels, offices, etc. Always the same, although the intensity can vary depending on where we hear are. It started for both of us at the exact same time (day and hour), and on this basis alone would think the sound must be real since the probability of two people becoming afflicted with the same "problem" at the exact same time seems too remote to consider. Certainly hope there's either a solution or explanation out there soon, or some way to block the hum better than with the ceiling fan. Even that is losing its effectiveness over time.
