I would consider myself one Hum sufferer who hears the Hum tone very loud and at times outside as loud as it is at home. Many many a sleepless troubled night with this tone.
Playing white noise through ear phones to mask the hum has greatly help me. In a perfect world I should have silence going to sleep but I will settle noise if it means I dont have to listen to this hum.
