Dear Friends, * Took a lot of time in thanking you all. Though I had been out for last 5 days, but sorry for taking so much of time. Anyway, I am totally taken over by your concern and love. * ** *Friends, things are quite bad at Lalgarh as is expected. State sponsored 'Harmad' (armed goons) are every where protected by armed forces. The day we were arrested, 10 villagers were also arrested with us. Joint forces rounded off around 100 people (including women and minors). Half of them were asked to go back on the way. Then at Pirakata armed force camp a man with face covered selected 10, out of which 2 were beaten as well, to be arrested. * ** *This is one, second is the way armed forces along with 'harmads' are terrorrising poor residents. Houses are ransacked, wemen are molested and beaten, kids too are not spared.* ** *Then is jail experience. It is terrible, half of the inmates are either convict or are accused of murdering daughter-in-law. then there are cases of trafficking, prostitution etc. I wondered at our idea of betterment of the situation, education** of women. Most of the cases are settled out of the court for one or two lakhs, that is the cost of a young girl and her life. Superstition is prevalant, I am ashamed of being so clueless of the prevalant situation.* ** *Will be writting in detail later,* ** *Love and thanks to you all,* ** *Nisha* -- Adv Kamayani Bali Mahabal +919820749204 skype-lawyercumactivist "After a war, the silencing of arms is not enough.
