Comments posted on TIME magazine's website over its publication of a
disfigured Afghan woman on its cover:
*Ghulam Muhammed, Mumbai*
Much that the disfigurement of a human face, splashed on TIME's cover
carries the ugly treatment some or (all, if you prefer) Afghan approve for
their women, gone astray according to their Tribal/religious code [is
disgusting], TIME's selective use of its media power is certainly on the
block as in last 9 years war in Afghanistan, TIME has never bothered to show
ghastly faces of hundreds of thousands of innocent Afghani children, women,
old people that died in US and NATO forces' bombardments. A case can be made
out that while TIME is quick to present the ugly face on one civilization
but is most reluctant to show the grotesque picture of West's own lawless
invasion of a people that cannot be directly accused of any crime. The world
is aware how Western media is covering up West's armed invasion inflicted of
millions of people in Iraq and Afghanistan, on spurious pretexts, hiding
their real objective to corner world's oil and strategic resources. US
official accused WIKIleak people of blood on their hands. Least could they
reflect how bloody is not only their hands, but their entire existan;
espcially on moral grounds. TIME must take lead to right the wrong that US
Media has committed, if the soul-searching that your managing editor so
sincerely, effectively and publically performed should have any meaning for
the rest of the victimized world -- victimized by US militarist obsessions,
bordering on sickness.
