The Delhi Seminar -Sedition or Diversion from Absence
of Governance ???????
Syed Ali Shah Geelani does not believe in respecting
the rights of the people of Kashmir and has been instrumental
in obfuscating democratic movements and diverting them
deliberately,to further Anglo-American strategic objectives,
which coincide with the views of the well heeled elite Kashmiri
Diaspora in London, Washington and Europe never likely
to return ;to restructure the region aided and abetted by those
who saffronised the security forces at certain levels while in
government in New Delhi with continued presence in the
corridors of power in New Delhi , provoking a severe
reaction in the valley linked to fake encounters.
For the propaganda of " Jehadi Terrorism " for better control of
the working people of India , Syed Ali Shah Geelani
among others were valuable allies . Nothing could have been
more diversionary from the absence of governance and
economic policy for millions of citizens in India including in the
Kashmir Valley facing run away inflation and unemployment than
the situation in the Valley as it suddenly erupted with another fake
encounter by security forces .
What is important is to ascertain whether the speakers at the recent
Seminar in New Delhi on Kashmir, adequately educated the citizens of India
including the Kashmiri people ,who faced the siege imposed by vested
interests and the reasons why the vital issue of the Imperialist objective
of
restructuring South Asia for better control, pursuant to the Holbrooke
mission
and the use of religious extremists in the Valley for this
purpose,including
the organizations to which Syed Ali Shah Geelani belongs and the BJP
and RSS among others in Jammu and elsewhere and the role of the Kashmiri
elite in oppressing the working people of Kashmir , including the role of
successive
state administrations in collusion with successive central governments ,
WERE RAISED OR NOT RAISED .
The charge of Sedition is a " Red Herring " . The Seminar was a
welcome diversion to the Central Government and the BJP and
saffron forces among others . The Home Ministry has the " Inside
Story " of the Seminar which will never be told !!!!!!!!. Often
controversies erupt to enable the media to create " leaders" when
none exist in an attempt to camouflage the vacuum .
Did this Seminar examine the impact of the fraudulent " War of Terror "
and the false propaganda of " Jehadi Terrorism " on TV Channels
and in the print media in the country on the people of Jammu and Kashmir,
and the rise in fake encountersand other such serious incidents which have
spread fear and revulsion in the Valley as in other parts of the country .
Did this Seminar ask for an independent investigation into the role
of political formations in the Kashmir Valley including the police
forces and para military in contributing to the rapidity with which
the situation deteriorated, spreading like wild fire resulting in the
death of more than a 120 children and youth with not a single established
political formation in real remorse on the senseless deaths of the
innocent .
Sedition is not the issue , what is important and what
is not being raised and discussed is whether
those at the Seminar, including Arundhati Roy have
educated the people of India including the people
of J & K on the Imperialist plot for the restructuring
of South Asia and what is likely to happen when regions are
balkanized, as smaller entities are even softer targets,
easier to manipulate than larger nation states and that the
people of Kashmir with able assistance from the stooges of
Imperialism among whom one is Syed Ali Shah Geelani
and his murderous squads should not fall from the " FRYING
PAN INTO THE FIRE " even as the former US Ambassador to
India is calling for the balkanization of South Asia beginning with
Afghanistan.
Arundhati Roy , who has received several awards from
Britain and the European Union among others , is an eminent
writer of literature and probably innocent of the Anglo-American
NATO for the region , for which the policy decisions were taken
decades ago which included on the one hand an onslaught into
Afghanistan in 1978 and on the other hand a pincer movement by
the same forces into J & K as an integral part of the same operation,
by the Imperialist instrument General Zia Ul Haq aided and abetted
by saffron forces in India who do not respect anyone's right to
self determination !!!!!!!.
I am sure association no one will disagree that being part
of a covert conspiracy to bomb civilians in India whether
in Malegaon , Ajmer , Samjauta Express or anywhere
else uncovered by the late Jt. Commissioner Hemant Karkare
is SEDITION .
There is excessive animosity directed against
Arundhati Roy who as an individual herself
does not claim to be right on every
issue and is primarily by her own admission a literary
rather than a political personality .
Is it that some have to be selectively targeted by
the media and the RSS creatures of British
colonial rule,in a weak attempt to create larger than
life images in a political desert with few worth
considering or hearing ???????????????
To drown other voices when there is no
consensus on the political issues under
debate .

DEMAND TO UPHOLD FREE SPEECH AND EXPRESSION
We condemn the demand of the BJP to “take the strongest possible
action” against Arundhati Roy for her “seditious comments” at the
seminar, “Azadi: The only way” held in New Delhi, October 21, 2010.
There is recorded evidence to prove that the views expressed by her
are not new and have also been made by innumerable others before and
after her. If Arundhati Roy or Syed Ali Shah Geelani (or any other
speaker from that seminar) is to be arrested for what they have said,
then by the same logic a number of us would have to be imprisoned not
to mention the entire population of Kashmir.
The concept of ‘sedition’ is archaic and has no place in a modern
democratic imagination. Perhaps for this reason the Drafting Committee
of the Indian Constitution did not include “sedition” among the
“reasonable restrictions” to Article 19(1) (a). In 1962, the Supreme
Court (Kedar Nath Singh vs. the State of Bihar) read down Section 124A
IPC to argue that only a call to violence or armed rebellion qualified
to be considered as ‘sedition’. The same Judgement reiterated the
importance of not allowing the provision to interfere with the Right
to Free Speech and Expression. As the present controversy proves, the
Supreme Court’s worst fears have been confirmed. The Bajrang Dal’s
threat that they will hound Arundhati Roy like M.F Hussain provides
further confirmation that ‘sedition’ will now be the new pretext for
censorship. When the British charged Gandhi with sedition, he famously
said, “Sedition in law is a deliberate crime but it appears to me to
be the highest duty of a citizen.” Expressing dissent about the
nation-state and re-imagining its future is certainly the right of
every citizen if not the “highest duty”.
