For those of you have read the Gajapati report of WSS about the 20 year old
woman who was sexually assaulted by the security forces as the raid party was
looking for her brother who is supposed to be a Maoist. . .There was a sister
who had gone missing too in the family - a detail that could not be discussed
much then as as we did not know anything more while finalising the report.
Pramodini just sent us this news that she happens to be one of the girls killed
in the Kashipur encounter in the early hours of Jan 9 in which 9 people,
including five women were killed.
This mail is to simply appeal to all of you that we (along with us in WSS) must
do our best to see that at least this sister who is in custody now secures
justice and is released . The family has borne more than their share of the
repression. Both the family and the lawyer need support so that the family gets
this daughter back. We must stem the repurcussion borne by brothers and sisters
and parents who need not be punished too. To the extent we can of course...
