Dear editor As people of all faiths mourn the passing of Sai Baba and as an inter-faith spiritual person I do understand where the feeling of loss comes from, one needs to remember he asked for righteous paths be followed and he believed in oneness of faiths. If one were to truly follow this path, the Sai Baba trusts he has set up need to have representatives of all faiths- preferably spiritual leaders and promote such centers in each village and slums. If the trusts were to truly follow his path that spirituality lies in serving the poor the trusts needs to help the landless acquire land (dalits and adivasis constitute 50% of the poor in India), prevent destructive development projects and spread the message against divisions of race, caste, religion class, sex, gender, orientation et al, make the sates accountable, make citizens accountable, make corporates accountable and make inter-state bodies (world bank to WTO to UN) accountable. If all human beings are equal before Goddess/God how can VIPs have special access to see his holy remains? For if they have followed just pathways, there is no need for fear or for security. with full reverence to late Sai Baba Ranjani Kamala Murthy Errata in public domain: I feel if we accept such restructuring of trusts, dalits should be there as well in the trusts as well as adivasis who follow indigenous spirituality (http://kurukhworld.com/encouragement/adivasi_mahasabha.html)who are in touch with life forces at a different level than us. Some ofcourse have been converted to mainstream a friend who read this post commented on anonymity, why not add women spiritual leaders in equal numbers on such trusts and come up with justice based inter-faith spiritual perspectives for this generation and the coming ones. Earth, girls, dalits, adiviasis and oppressed need to survive. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "humanrights movement" group.
