Dear all
Greetings from Jan Aarogya Abhiyan!
As you may be aware, Jan Arogya Abhiyan, Maharashtra is a state vide
coalition of civil society organizations working on health issues since
2000, with the objective of reaching the goal of ‘health for all’.
This is to request you to delegate an appropriate reporter from your
esteemed paper for the *press conference on 4th August at 3 pm at at 5 pm at
marathi patrakar sangh , First floor , Mumbai*
In this press conference we would like to focus on two urgent issues from
the point of view of Patients in Maharashtra.
1) Why the *new procurement policy* declared last week would not solve this
problem of c*ontinuous gross shortage of essential medicines in PHCs and
Rural Hospitals* in Maharashtra. We would like to share why we think that the
tried and tested, renowned *system of medicine procurement and distribution
in Tamil Nadu* should be fully adopted in Maharashtra (with minor
modifications if needed)..
2) Long pending inclusion of Patients’ Rights in the rules of the Bombay
Nursing Home Registration Act. The *Charter of Patients' Rights* was
included *in the 2006 draft BNHRA rules* which were posted on the
Maharashtra Government's web site in July 2006. However, final approval to
these draft rules to be given by the Health Minister is yet come, despite
assurance from the former two Health Ministers. We would like to communicate
the urgency and the need for final approval to these rules.
Thanking you,
Sincerely yours,

*The UID project i**s going to do almost exactly the same thing which the
predecessors of Hitler did, else how is it that Germany always had the lists
of Jewish names even prior to the arrival of the Nazis? The Nazis got these
lists with the help of IBM which was in the 'census' business that included
racial census that entailed not only count the Jews but also identifying
them. At the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC, there is an
exhibit of an IBM Hollerith D-11 card sorting machine that was responsible
for organising the census of 1933 that first identified the Jews.*
