The human rights organisations and the people against death sentence are
stepping up their campaign to save Prarivaalan who is said to be falsely
inducted in Rajiv assassination case.

The mercy petitions of the three convicts Murugan, Santhan and Perarivalan
in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case were rejected by the President of India.
Therefore they are facing the execution.

Out of these three people Perarivaalan who was arrested in this case at the
age of 17 has claimed innocence. The police who investigated this case
allegedly had got a statement from him by torture. He has narrated the
police atrocities in his blog.

Those who have reposed faith on this innocent man have come to a conclusion
that the Rajiv assassination case have certain holes with mysteries. The
investigators have used innocent people to plug those holes either to hide
their inability or to save some others. If this is true a reinvestigation of
the case cannot be ruled out.

After the rejection of mercy petitions the human rights activists have
conducted a Press meet in Chennai Press club on Saturday. Perarivaalan’s
mother has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu with a
passionate appeal to save her son. ( See the Pictures)

Apart from this a Bike Procession is arranged by the Campaigners of ” No to
Death Sentence” who will go from Chennai to Vellore with an appeal to save
all the three convicts in the case. On August 20 Saturday “a gathering of
One Lakh people ” at Chennai Beach Station is also announced. Thamizharuvi
Manian too is to address a meeting on this at Memorial Hall Chennai on the
same day.

A campaign with Online Petition with a ‘Plea to cancel the death sentence
wrongly given to innocent Perarivalan. ” too is picking up momentum.

Meanwhile it is learnt that 10 MLAs including Puthiya Tahmizhagam Leader
Krishnswamy have decided to raise this issue in Tamil nadu Legislative
assembly. (Truthdive)
