Anna's team has brought an issue dead for 42 years to the fore & the
last few months we have seen the only real debate on a law that will
affect us all. It can surely be called the mother of all debates .

People may reminiscence about the JP revolution , but the SMSes ,
cyber media & the TV coverage wasn't there in the 70s to spread the
word.
This has to be bigger . We were 80 cr then ..120 now too.

Anna's team we all saw organized a peaceful protest & the stage was
used to educate India on their version of the JLP ,
we saw Kejriwal , Prashant Bhushan & Kiran Bedi explain the fine
points , almost clause by clause .

Still many have criticized the movement ; it was a caste gathering ,
people were on picnic & so on....meaning they were not serious or
there
for the intended purpose. The Anna JLP Bill too has been criticized
by other activists working on the issue for long Aruna Roy most
famous
among them & on numerous issues rightly or wrongly . The ten plus
days saw intensive 24 hours of debates on the channels , plenty of
writing in
news papers & blogs in the cyber space for and against the motion ,
which went on to the parliament too have shown what a wonderfull free
democracy
we live in . We are all free to voice our opnion , convince & convert
others to our view ....and even reject.

The Dalit opinion makers were visible too on TV and an Dalit
activist lady working with Kejriwal was there too .

Now that Anna has left the stage almost free , all groups who have
concrete , constructive suggestions or have opposed Anna on some
substantial or minor issue ... Imam Bukhari , Laloo , Shive Sena ,
Arundhati , Chandrabhan Prasad , Udit Raj are the names that come
immediately to the mind should now educate us on their versions of
the Bill & also clear any such misgivings that they have had about
Anna , his bill & his motives . These people should now engage with
all other castes , communities , religions , groups , intellectuals
etc. and explain the merits , demerits , special provisions they
need .

For some thing to be accepted in a democracy the majority needs to be
a part of it ...is the best or.... the worst thing about a
democracy .
